Karen has a diverse range of print and online editing experience ranging from health, wellness and medicine to business and higher education. She has edited for business professionals at the Rotman School of Management, corporate executives, physicians and professors at Queen’s University.

She has worked as an Assistant Editor for the medical communications company CTC Communications (publishers of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Canada, Gastroenterology Canada, Dermatology Times of Canada and Urology Times of Canada). She has edited while working for various departments at Queen’s University, including the Writing Centre, Continuing and Distance Studies (in the role of Academic Assistant) and Marketing and Communications.

More recently, she worked as Associate Editor for Your Workplace magazine (, an award-winning Canadian publication that fosters healthy, progressive workplaces and work-life balance. There she developed and managed all editorial aspects of the magazine and worked on branding and community-building strategies through the corporate blog. She increased digital followers and expanded social media platforms (increased monthly UVs more than 300% in seven months with editorial, blogging and SEO). She currently remains the Copy Editor at Your Workplace.

Karen is an active member of the Kingston Editor’s Group, a past member of the Editors’ Association of Canada and the Canadian Society of Magazine Editors. She enjoys attending MagNet, Canada’s annual magazine conference held in Toronto, Ontario.
